I have been dying to get my hands on a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for over a year. I was fortunate enough to receive one as a wedding gift from my dear Uncle Mark McRoy (check out his cooking show here.) As soon as we returned from our honeymoon I pulled it from the box and set it up on the middle of our kitchen counter – where it has stayed since! I wanted to start with something easy, so I searched Pinterest for cookie recipes and found this great blog called Sally’s Baking Addiction. Sally is hilarious and really spells out her instructions. My first batch was Cake Batter Sugar Cookies and they are hands-down my favorite cookies I’ve ever eaten. Sugar cookies are my favorite type of cookie, but the added cake batter flavors really did me over! I adapted her recipe just a tad by mixing in the recommended amount of sprinkles, but not rolling my cookies again before baking. These turned out so small & sweet – they would be perfect for a shower or birthday party! I was thinking of using different colored sprinkles for holidays, too. I’ll be back for another Sally’s Baking Addiction recipe soon.
