After church on Sunday, Connor and I moseyed up to Greenville for lunch at one of our favorites, Tupelo Honey, before spending some of our yard sale money at Anthropologie. A new dress for a summer wedding really made my day.
Memorial Day started at 4am when we packed up the car and raced the sun to Pretty Place. While still in Greenville County, it took almost two hours to drive to the top of the mountain from Fountain Inn. We walked into the chapel right as the orange sun broke from behind the hills. What a view. We planned a day of pool-side cookouts and afternoon swims with family, but wanted to take a few minutes to pause and reflect. I can't think of a more appropriate place to reflect on the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our earthly freedom, than in front of a cross representing the man who made the ultimate sacrifice for our eternal freedom.
