Connor and I have been partners at Capstone for the last year or so and we've really started to get involved with serving and our community group. I'm a member of the Communications Team where I post to the church's social media accounts, create graphics to share, and help plan events. When Walt asked me last month if I would be interested in decorating for Christmas I jumped at the chance; I love the holidays and any opportunity to set a table! After learning the series for Advent would be called "Center Peace" I started creating a vision board and picking up design pieces here and there. I went with an indigo and green theme with accents of white and gold. I am so proud of how beautiful it all turned out! The Christmas trees and table top make you feel like you're in someone's home, while the wreaths and garland in the lobby tie everything together. I hope you'll join us this Christmas season at Capstone Church!

When we bought this house two years ago we really had no clue about the real estate market. We picked this bungalow because we loved it's charm and it's price tag. We were fresh out of college, not married yet, and had limited funds to buy a home. I swear we drove past this place a hundred times without giving it a second thought. It sat empty for over a year before we we finally scheduled a showing. We weren't sure about about the location, or the neighbors, or the amount of work it needed, but when we walked in the front door I just knew it was our house. It's like I could feel the walls hug me tight and say, "You're home." Y'all have watched us fix this place up, room by room, since we were first married and we have loved every minute of it. Over the last few months our renovations have stalled out. We've completed all of the easier do-it-yourself projects, but our kitchen still needs a major makeover. We knew when we moved in that it would need more than just a coat of paint, and I've been not so patiently waiting for two years while we figured out how to afford the gut-job I envisioned for this space. Last month, we refinanced the house to rid ourselves of that pesky mortgage insurance. We decided to use our current mortgage company because they wrapped up the appraisal and closing costs into the loan, an option other banks didn't offer. We were shocked by how much the appraisal came back for, and thankful we were able to refinance with a traditional 20% down loan with enough cash to pay off debt and renovate the kitchen. How exciting! | current | Stay tuned as we rip this kitchen apart and build it back from the ground up. We've been getting estimates for cabinets, counters, flooring, appliances, and more. I'll be sure to post updates throughout the whole process. Wish us luck!
