We had a wonderful time learning about succulents, asking lots of questions, and picking out new prickly friends for our collections. Yelp was so generous to give each of us a $10 credit towards our purchase.
Yelp Greenville hosted a Succulent Saturday at my favorite local nursery, Martin Garden Center. We sipped mimosas while being led on a private tour of the greenhouse. I learned some new tips and tricks for Sprouts With Clout, and made new friends with the same passion for plants that I have. I really enjoyed meeting Kay, Martin's social media influencer, who immediately recognized me from Instagram. How neat is that?! We had a wonderful time learning about succulents, asking lots of questions, and picking out new prickly friends for our collections. Yelp was so generous to give each of us a $10 credit towards our purchase. Although this was my first Yelp event, I am a frequent customer at Martin's. They have the largest greenhouse in the Upstate with a wide assortment of plants. I usually buy my house plants there because they have some very unique varieties. I can't wait to come back to another event - I hear Martini Mondays will be returning this Fall!

On August 1st, Connor and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. And what a happy couple of years! We seriously couldn't believe it had already been that long, while our friends and family can't believe it's only been two. Last year we took a trip to Charlotte, but now we have some other travel plans in the works, so we decided to have a stay-cation of sorts. On our actual anniversary we grilled out steaks and I baked a red velvet cake. Tuesdays aren't the most glamorous of days, but we enjoyed a yummy meal and a few episodes of A Chef's Life. By Friday we were ready for date night at Frankie's where we enjoyed go-carts, batting cages, and mini golf. Connor has been wanting to go there for months, so this was the perfect excuse to relive our high school days! For dinner we drove to Greer for a Food Truck Roll Out. We sampled some of our favorite trucks and listened to some bluegrass music out on the lawn. This was the first time we have attended a rally, and it was so much fun! What a great opportunity to sample a lot of different entrees and desserts. We spent Saturday by the pool trying to soak in the last bit of Summer. It is so fun swimming and tanning and playing with the dogs at the house Connor grew up in. Making more of the same memories we've been making for almost eight years in that back yard. After dinner, we snuck candy into the movies and watched Atomic Blonde. Definitely an action flick, but something we both enjoyed. By Sunday it was back to church, where Connor and I have recently started to serve as greeters, and dinner with the whole family over at Honey's. While it wasn't the most extravagant weekend we've ever spent, some quality us time was just what we needed to rejuvenate our marriage for year three. I just love making memories with you, Connor, and walking through this crazy life hand in hand! Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
