We had some errands to run on Saturday morning, and one stop was at Willis Family Farm in Greenpond for a bale of alfalfa for my in-law's horses. While we were there we also picked out some beautiful heirloom pumpkins for the front porch. They make me smile every time I pull up the drive! After talking with the farmer, we worked out a deal to sell these gorgeous pumpkins at the hardware store this season. I am very excited to be partnering with a local farmer and adding some color to the store. I just know we'll see them decorating porches all across town.
After we dropped off the hay we decided to head back downtown for day two of the festival. This time we were able to sample the pulled pork each tent had been smoking overnight. Each one was unique and delicious, and some came with a homemade sauce. We could barely walk after we finished eating the total of 2 lbs of BBQ. Wow. The city had corn hole boards set up and blowups for the kids. With Will at the DJ booth we had a real party on our hands! I can't wait to see how this event grows in the years to come. You know we'll be at anything food related!
This weekend was such a great way to welcome a new season, and I cannot wait to make more memories in the months to come!
