Back in April, I attended an Indie Craft Parade workshop at The Station. The workshop was an instructional about how to make succulent wreaths, and my wedding florist was the instructor! If you don't know about Indie Craft Parade, it is a festival of handmade art in Greenville, SC each fall. They also have a holiday fair in December and multiple workshops throughout the year. The artists that are showcased at the fair make everything from children's toys to letterpressed cards, and metal jewelry to floral arrangements. When I got to Suzie's studio I was greeted with wine & crackers and a big hug from Suzie herself. There were about 12 of us signed up for the workshop, and three women were helping us with our creations. I was especially surprised to see one of my sorority sisters who graduated a couple of years ago was also there! We had a great time socializing and creating. After we finished we were instructed to let the wreath lay down for several weeks to let the succulent roots establish, and then we were instructed to hang the wreath and mist it every four days. Now that I know how, I am going to make some larger wreaths for our new house!
