After our dance we sat down for the first time in hours and ate supper. The buffet was through Main St Catering, and I don't know if it was because I was so hungry, but it tasted like the best food I had ever put in my mouth. We had fried chicken, roast beef, green beans, macaroni and cheese, salad, cornbread, and sweet tea. We added ten plates to our final head count and we still didn't have any food left over. I would definitely recommend them to other brides!
After eating and visiting with our guests we had the traditional Father - Daughter dance to "Walk With You," by Edwin McCain, and Mother - Son dance to "There You'll Be," by Faith Hill. These dances were so special to Connor and me, and the pictures Amber took will be cherished for a lifetime.
After we cut the cake, our DJ, Ray Alexander, from Pros Only Entertainment switched the music from Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin jazz to more current dancing tunes. The dance floor was crowded for line dances and booty-popping! When I got the chance I snuck away to change out of my gown and into my rehearsal dress, and Connor switched the tux for some blue jeans. As the crowd started to thin we made our champagne toast and grand sparkler exit.
As it turns out there are laws about using sparklers in downtown Anderson. Ahead of time we had to call the fire department to let them know we would have fire at our event, and provide buckets of sand and water to extinguish the sparklers. Who knew!
