I love it so much.
My Mama gave us the four white chairs when we were engaged as a love present to match our small table. The chairs on the end of the table are from Anthropologie, but we bought them at Final Cut. I was a little nervous about the size, but once we got it in place it fit the room perfectly. I think it gives this huge space a purpose.
The church pew was in my Great Grandma's church around the turn of the century. After she passed away my Dad brought it home and cut it down to be a bench. It's been in my parent's basement for a couple years now, so I asked if I could have it. I found some clearance pillows to dress it up a bit and store my cookbooks underneath in an old metal milk crate. The frame above the pew was a gold mirror I found on the side of the road. I knocked out the mirror, spray painted it white, and had Connor hang it with a wooden monogram we were gifted at one of our showers. I love how farmhouse it turned out, and not to mention it was totally free.
The table top was my favorite part to decorate. The focal points are the three wooden bread bowls that belonged to my maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother, and paternal great grandmother. These bowls are a piece of southern history and have seen more biscuit dough than I care to guess. They are priceless to me, so I wanted to make sure they were the centerpiece. Our every day dishes are topped with napkins and rings from Pottery Barn Outlet. The silver antlers are from TJ Maxx, and the ceramic pumpkins were a Target dollar section find. I added a brown kraft paper runner and a plaid blanket to the bench for fall.
We're having friends over this weekend for a potluck Friendsgiving, and I am so excited to fill this table with some of our favorite people!
