Merry Christmas to you! And I hope you'll visit Fountain Inn very soon!
Connor and I were honored to share our home during the Fountain Inn Music Club's Tour of Homes this year. The tour is a long-standing tradition around here, and what a pleasure it was to meet so many people! Each year different families in Fountain Inn volunteer to decorate their homes for the holidays and open them up to the public for tours. It only happens on one Sunday afternoon, while members of the music club play instruments and sing for the visitors. Some knew us through Connor's family, some knew our home through previous owners, and the rest were just cheerful townspeople in search of Christmas decorations. We had the best time sharing details of our sweet bungalow with those who seemed genuinely interested, and explaining which rooms we had renovated and which details were original. We even learned a few things from folks who had visited in years past! Living Room Master Bedroom Bathroom Guest Room Dining Room Kitchen Exterior Photos can't quite express the feeling of home, but I hope you enjoy seeing our decorations as much as we enjoyed designing each space. The outside of our blue bungalow will always be my favorite feature, but taking the time to decorate each room this year brought on a whole new sense of festivity!
Merry Christmas to you! And I hope you'll visit Fountain Inn very soon!

My best friend from college, Chelsea, is finally marrying her sweetheart, Lex. We've been friends with them for years, and it's such a joy and privilege to do life with them. My heart was so happy when they decided to settle down in Greer, just 30 minutes down the road. We try to get together for dinner every couple of months and celebrate all of life's major milestones. Their wedding day is later next month, but to kick off the celebration Connor and I co-hosted a couple's shower with our other dear friends, Lauren and Thomas. After throwing around a few different dates, Lauren suggested a Cinco de Mayo party since we have a mutual love of Mexican food. For dinner, we prepared a taco & nacho bar with all the fixin's. We also had queso, cakes, and lots of margaritas! Lauren handmade cactus sugar cookies for our guests to take home. A few colorful decorations and yard games were all we needed to have a beautiful shower with so many of Chelsea and Lex's friends who visited from Clemson, Greenville, and Columbia. Everyone had such a great time getting to know each other before the big day, and showering the happy couple with gifts for their home. This was the first shower we've ever hosted, and I had the best time picking out invitations, planning menus, and collaborating with Lauren. Our home felt so full with people bustling about, chatting about the good old days, and eating on the porches.
Next week is Chelsea's bachelorette party, and I can't wait to celebrate her even more! It won't be long before she's a Mrs. It may be hard to believe since it's seventy degrees outside, but Christmas is right around the corner. I'm wrapping up a few last minute gifts and planning a menu for our family gatherings. Connor is finishing up his last work projects for the year before we spend a few days in the mountains next week. I love this time of year and how it forces us to slow down a bit to appreciate all of our blessings. And who doesn't love a house all dressed up for the holidays? The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 |
