who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
It may be hard to believe since it's seventy degrees outside, but Christmas is right around the corner. I'm wrapping up a few last minute gifts and planning a menu for our family gatherings. Connor is finishing up his last work projects for the year before we spend a few days in the mountains next week. I love this time of year and how it forces us to slow down a bit to appreciate all of our blessings. And who doesn't love a house all dressed up for the holidays? The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Connor laughed out loud when I said Fountain Inn reminds me of a Hallmark movie. Maybe he can't see it because he grew up here and these traditions are just a part of who he is, but the twinkling lights and horse drawn carriages are like scenes from a sappy romance novel. And I just drink it right up along with my hot chocolate. We made our way downtown this week for date night. We walked both sides of Main Street to see all of the beautiful window displays before stopping in the museum to buy our tickets for a carriage ride. On week nights the rides run through Inn Circle, a neighborhood known for the most beautiful Christmas light displays. I've being going on these rides since I was a little girl; at first with my parents or company from out of town and then later with Connor. It's the same route every year, but it never gets old to bundle up with a hot cocoa and single Christmas carols. We saw Santa, too, waiting for children to whisper what they're hoping he'll bring in just eleven days. Just another reason why I love this small town life! "Over the ground lies a mantle of white, a heaven of diamonds shine down through the night.
Two hearts are thrilling in spite of the chilling weather." - Winter Wonderland Merry Merry! It's that time of year again -- tacky sweaters, corny games, gag gifts, and finger foods with those we hold dearest. Connor and I joined a community group at our church this past fall and have loved getting to know and love these folks. We meet on Sunday nights for bible study and fellowship. What an awesome way to live in community and hold one another accountable in our individual walks with Jesus. Community groups in conjunction with serving is what it means to be a "Partner" at Capstone Church. We are so thankful to have found a church that we match so well with! We were missing a lot of folks last night, but we still had a wonderful time of fellowship together while the kiddos played. Everyone brought an appetizer to share and a gift for Dirty Santa. The Haltiwangers were gracious enough to host us, and we all got to meet the Bargeron's sweet new baby. I can't wait to start meeting again after the holidays!
